PROJECT:
The Chizzeria
//
CLIENT:
KFC

To celebrate the U.S. launch of KFC’s hit product Chizza, we transformed one of their most popular New York locations into a full-fledged Chizzeria, with old-school slice shop vibes and seemingly decades’ worth of neighborhood nostalgia.

There’s nothing we love more than fully transforming a space – especially when the project's theme offers so much opportunity to play into the theme with a million little touches that add up to create an atmosphere that’s so fully realized, it makes people ask themselves our favorite question: “where did this place come from?”

The Buildout

Over the two days we were under construction, we had countless neighbors drop in to curse us for killing their beloved fried chicken joint. No matter how many times we promised them it was still going to be the restaurant they knew and loved, they wouldn't hear it. By the end, we accepted it as a compliment to our total transformation, and to KFC’s well-deserved brand loyalty.

Party Time

Once doors opened, to say that people ate it up is not only a terrible pun, but a huge understatement. The line was almost always down the block, and the vibe inside our quaint little Chizza shop was more block party than restaurant.

Huge thanks to our forever friends at Mullen for bringing us into this collaboration and for being the ambitious, creative and fun partners they always are <3. And to the geniuses at Morning Breath for creating the greatest branding we could have ever hoped for!
